Westlaw New Zealand Tip - Creating links to content in new Westlaw New Zealand

You can quickly create links from your intranet, library catalogue or learning system to content in Westlaw New Zealand.

Please note that this tip outlines how to create links when users are accessing new Westlaw New Zealand with a OnePass login.

If the link is to be used by SAML SSO users then an extra step is required when creating the link. The link must include the unique Group ID.

Link to case KeyCite record

  1. Click on the Copy menu button.
  2. Select Copy citation.
  1. Ensure the Add hyperlink to citation box is ticked.
  2. Click on the Copy button and use CTRL and V to paste.

Link to a reported version of a case

  1. Ensure you are in the law report version of the case material.
  2. Click on the Copy button and use CTRL and V to paste.

Link to a journal article

  1. Search for the article by words in the title or citation
  2. Click on the suggestion to locate the journal record
  1. Click on the Copy menu button.
  2. Select Copy citation.
  1. Ensure the Add hyperlink to citation box is ticked.
  2. Click on the Copy button and use CTRL and V to paste.

Link to A to Z of New Zealand Law

  1. When on the page, click on the Copy menu.
  2. Click on Copy citation.
  1. Ensure the Add hyperlink to citation box is ticked.
  2. Click on the Copy button and use CTRL and V to paste.

Link to a commentary’s table of contents

  1. Search for the commentary by typing in its name
  2. Click on the suggestion to go to the table of contents
  1. Click on the Copy Link button.
  1. Click on the Copy button and paste using CTRL V.
