Westlaw New Zealand Tip - Typeahead

Last Published: October 01, 2020

As you type your search terms into the global search bar on the home page, suggestions of relevant materials are shown as you type. This can help you find relevant resources more quickly than a traditional search.

Searching using the Typeahead suggestions

  1. Carry out your search using Boolean connectors or natural language (without connectors). As you type, suggestions appear below the search box.
  2. You can click on a suggested content type to view documents in that category.
  1. Click on a suggested hyperlink to see the document.
  1. If you press the Enter button instead of on a Typeahead suggestion, your search will be run as usual and you will see results from all relevant categories.
