Perhaps you’re already fan of the New Zealand Universities Law Review; if you are, you’re not alone. It’s a legal journal that enjoys a strong reputation both in New Zealand and internationally.

For more than a decade Thomson Reuters NZ has partnered with the NZULR editorial board to publish the journal in hardcopy twice annually.

The editorial board is made up of representatives of each the five New Zealand Law schools, along with a member of the judiciary and a member of the Bar. General editorship is shared amongst the law school faculties, on a two-yearly cycle (currently residing with the Otago faculty).

As of November 2010 this journal is now available as a database on Brookers Online.
We’ve included all articles from all issues published since we partnered with the NZULR board in 1997. Compiled in one place, readers can search across this content in a number of different ways, including article title or citation, or by author name. Users can limit their search by the year of publication or look for articles pertaining to a particular piece of legislation or case law.

Good journals are made to be read and that’s definitely the case with NZULR. We’ve recognised that reading long articles online can be a chore. So to save your eyesight we’ve included full pdf versions of every article as they appeared in the hardcopy of the journal. So if you get caught up in a lengthy article, you can print it off or upload to your e-reader and take it away from you desk, to read at your convenience.

The December issue of NZULR has features articles on a range of legal topics including the Bill of Rights, data protection in an international online context, the Treaty of Waitangi in legal discourse, exemplary damages, and contract interpretation.
