Content updates

A new page in Employment Law on Westlaw New Zealand provides a single point of access to pending and proposed changes in employment legislation.

Called Pending and Proposed Employment Legislation Changes, the page identifies and links to amendments passed but not yet in force (i.e. pending changes) and current Bills before Parliament (i.e. proposed changes).

In terms of pending changes, for example, the page records that on 28 November 2023 (or an earlier date appointed by Order in Council) the Security Information in Proceedings (Repeals and Amendments) Act 2022 will make various amendments to:

  • ss 133, 178, 178AA and 187 of the Employment Relations Act 2000; and
  • s 162 and sch 4 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

In terms of proposed changes, the page records (for example) that the Employment Relations (Extended Time for Personal Grievance for Sexual Harassment) Amendment Bill 2021 (87-2) was considered by the Committee of whole House on 7 December 2022.

The page will be updated in line with relevant legislative developments.
