Content updates

Dr Andrew Dallas, Chief of the Employment Relations Authority, issued a “consolidated and updated” Practice Direction on 25 August 2023. This replaces three previous Practice Notes.

The Practice Direction has three main parts:

  • Steps to be taken in the Authority’s process (replacing Practice Note 1: Steps to be Taken in Proceedings, issued in 2016).
  • Costs in the Authority (replacing Practice Note 2: Costs in the Employment Relations Authority, issued in 2022).
  • The Authority’s expectations of parties (replacing Practice Note 3: Conduct of Representatives in the Employment Relations Authority, issued in 2019).

Sourced from the Authority’s website at <www.era.govt.nz/about-us/what-we-do>, a PDF copy of the Practice Direction is available in Employment Precedents (online ed, Thomson Reuters) at [ERAPD1], and a textual reproduction is in Employment Law (online ed, Thomson Reuters) at [PN1].
