No dust gathered on New Zealand's employment law statute book over the holiday period, with various changes relating to screen industry workers coming into force on 30 December 2022.

Screen Industry Workers Act 2022

This Act (105 sections and four schedules) is designed to “provide a workplace relations framework for certain participants in the screen industry” (s 3). It includes amendments to the Employment Relations Act 2000 (ss 100–105).

Screen Industry Workers (Registrar Functions and Other Prescribed Matters) Regulations 2022

These regulations (seven provisions and one schedule) prescribe certain details for the purposes of the Screen Industry Workers Act 2022.

Employment Relations Authority (Screen Industry Workers) Amendment Regulations 2022

These regulations (12 provisions and one schedule) amend the Employment Relations Authority Regulations 2000 to insert details of the processes for certain applications to the Employment Relations Authority under the Screen Industry Workers Act 2022.

These legislative changes have been incorporated in Employment Law on Westlaw New Zealand. See Employment Law — What's New for further information.
