The awards are open to English-language b2b publications worldwide. This year there were more than 400 entries, with nominations coming from the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and South Africa.

The 'Best Single Issue' category was the competition’s most comprehensive and along with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, a further 22 ‘honourable mentions’ (including Employment Today in 14th place overall) were awarded.

Mindfulness and colouring in for adults

One of the topics covered in Employment Today’s 'wellness at work' issue was mindfulness. Mindfulness has been described as “one of the hottest trends in business”, and it’s also been a recurring theme for many of the adult colouring books that have hit the market over the past year. These books were topping bestseller lists around the world at the time of commissioning the June issue and interest in them was just beginning to pick up in New Zealand.

Editor Lyndsey Swan decided that running a special Kiwi-themed colouring page in Employment Today was a great opportunity to align this popular trend with articles on mindfulness and work-life balance—and provide readers with their very own exercise in mindful colouring!

Readers were invited to post their artwork on Employment Today’s Facebook page and the fabulously coloured winning entry was featured in the next issue.
