From banking to legal information

Mark is our new Wellington based NZ Finance Manager.

He arrives with extensive leadership experience mostly gained with ANZ. During the fifteen years he spent there he covered a variety of Head Office roles including leading the rural banking team. That involved him in key initiatives and strategic planning whilst managing enormously diverse people; from urbanites to those for whom a suit was a novelty and gumboots were the norm.

Mark was also heavily involved in the National Bank/ANZ merger. It was his responsibility to integrate and manage the new combined head office team. Quite a challenge, he says because of the scope and size of the changes. However it was also a role he enjoyed, suiting his special brand of creative, practical leadership.

During the interview process for his new position at Thomson Reuters, Mark says he was impressed by the people he met. He liked what he saw of the cultural environment and now that he’s here, he’s amazed by both the range of staff expertise and niche products produced. We are, he says, extraordinary. There’s a lot to learn and so far, he is enjoying it.

Off duty

When he’s not at work, you might spot him running, (He took part in the 2010 New York Marathon.), or biking. He is a Crusaders supporter, the proud Dad of two girls and his wife, Nicky, is a part time accountant.
