Thomson Reuters books two out of three nominated

Thomson Reuters NZ authors Philip Joseph (Constitutional and Administrative Law in New Zealand), Robert Merkin and Chris Nicoll  (Colinvaux's Law of Insurance in New Zealand) whose books were published in 2014 have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2014 J F Northey Memorial Book Award.

The third nomination, published by Hart, is "The Law Emprynted and Englysshed" by author David J Harvey.

We are delighted to see two new titles published by Thomson Reuters NZ nominated for the 2014 JF Northey award.
"Constitutional and Administrative Law in New Zealand" has long been a leading work in our stable of legal treatises  whilst "Colinvaux's Law of Insurance in New Zealand" is a significant new title for New Zealand, albeit founded on the highly regarded UK text. These nominations continue the proud tradition of previous Thomson Reuters NZ nominees and winners of the JF Northey awards.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 4 June 2015 at the Legal Research Foundation AGM.

The  annual J F Northey Memorial Book Award  is one of several sponsored by the New Zealand Legal Research Foundation to support, acknowledge and celebrate excellence in legal writing.

Our previous winners

This is the second time two of the three nominees have been Thomson Reuters NZ authors. In 2013 authors Peter Devonshire (Account of Profits) and Richard Boast (The Native Land Court) whose books were published in 2013 were first shortlisted, and then jointly won the award. Other previous Thomson Reuters NZ winners include Ron Paterson and Peter Skegg for Medical Law in New Zealand, first published in 2006.
