The NZ Law Style Guide and Product Presentation

NZ Law Style GuideFollowing the January 2010 endorsement and subsequent adoption of the New Zealand Law Style Guide by our law schools, other principal legal publishers and courts (Supreme and Court of Appeal), all Thomson Reuters (Brookers) products are being gradually brought into line with its recommendations.

The changes began with our looseleaf products last year and are now extended to the Brookers Report Series. As each volumes closes, the revamped style guide is implemented in the new one.

All changes that have been applied to our hardcopy products are mirrored in their Brookers Online counterparts.

Prior to the appearance of the best selling NZ Law Style Guide brought together by a group of academics, editors and publishers led by Geoff McLay and Justice Chambers, most of our major legal institutions used their own idiosyncratic style when referring to legal material.
