The OSH Tracker database in Brookers Online is an efficient way for lawyers working in employment and related fields or Health and Safety practitioners to find cases which have passed through the courts under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 (and related regulations), as well as those taken against employers under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.

OSH Tracker is updated frequently, has a growing collection of nearly 2000 cases and is found through two databases in Brookers Online: Case Law and Employment as seen in the screenshot below.

 Each case includes a case summary, and can also include the Department of Labour summary of facts, return on prosecutions and court decisions.

Again depending on availability, the full searchable text of the cases are included as well as a PDF of the original case. Legislation referred to is linked for easy reference.

CiteCase data is now included indicating the status of a case as can be seen in the screenshot below.

Search Options

OSH Tracker has several search options.
You may browse through the Table of Contents to locate what you want.
Use the simple search box seen in the screen shot below.

Or do an advanced search using the advanced search form illustrated below.

The full searchable text of judgments is automatically included in an Advanced search.

If you subscribe to Safeguard magazine you’ll be able to cross reference between the Online and the hard copy article of each case.
