The author of the leading text "International and Cross border Taxation in New Zealand", Professor Craig Elliffe, (Auckland University Law School), has been shortlisted for another major award.

His paper "The Lesser of Two Evils: Double Tax Treaty Override or Treaty Abuse?", originally published in the British Tax Review, is competing against five other research papers for the Frans Vanistendael 2017 Award for International Tax Law.  The results will be announced in May and the winner receives EUR 10,000.

Winner of the 2015 JF Northey Memorial Book Award

In 2016 "International and Cross border Taxation in New Zealand" won the prestigious JF Northey Memorial Book Award and has since been endorsed nationally and internationally for its timely, thorough and readable treatment of its topic.

Shortlisting confirms standing

This latest distinction comes as no real surprise to either Thomson Reuters or to Professor Elliffe's peers within the industry.
