What’s new in Bills of NZ Online?

If you’re an academic, or involved in any sort of future planning, requiring research into NZ’s legislation the recent changes to Bills of NZ Online have just made your task easier.
These improvements in a nutshell are:

  • Splitting Bills into 15 topical categories ensuring you only receive what you want.
  • Categorising Bills inside each topical area into Current, Terminated and Assented Bills. Related Supplementary Order Papers are also listed. ( see the screen shot below) .

  • The addition of a Progress Table to every Bill captures an at-a -glance history of its progression.

  • Once opened sequential events are headlined and linked into their respective documents as shown in the screenshot .

  • Direct linking from Bills to Earlier and Later Stages, Acts from a Bill and Supplementary Order Papers via the right-hand side bar.

Bills of NZ Online

  • Direct linking from an Act or Regulation via the right-hand side bar to Amendments, Source Bills, Related Documents as well as a searchable, downloadable and printable PDF.
    (The PDF is now an actual scan of the official copy.)

  • The addition of Explanatory Notes, where applicable (clause by clause analysis) as in the screenshot below.
